Nunca me imaginé que todo esto pasaría en el Perú. El nivel de represión de la Policía es extremo: agentes armados atacaban, como si fuera una guerra, a ciudadanos que protestaban pacíficamente contra un régimen ilegítimo, y ahora también asesino. En tanto, el entonces supuesto presidente del país, Manuel Merino, brillaba por su ausencia y el primer ministro, Ántero Flores-Aráoz, decía no saber nada y se aferraban al poder pese a todo el dolor causado.
Peruanos muertos, desaparecidos y heridos por salir a protestar pacíficamente contra la clase política corrupta y oportunista. Y la Policía no cesaba de atacar a civiles, a pesar de las muertes ya confirmadas.
¿Qué tienen en la cabeza? Pero sobre todo, ¿Qué tienen en el corazón? Claramente, no hay humanidad. ¡La propia Policía que debería protegernos! Son asesinos y estos delitos no deben quedar impunes, tras todo este caos. Estamos en una anarquía.
Pero, ¿Quién vendrá ahora, luego de que renunciara el cobarde de Manuel Merino y el su indolente gabinete presidido por Ántero? ¿Y en el Congreso? ¿Quiénes serán elegidos como autoridades en las próximas elecciones?
Los jóvenes indignados son la cara de estas protestas, y levantar su voz así es un acto cívico necesario en estos momentos, pero el Perú necesita aún más. El país necesita ser rescatado por nuevos líderes libres de corrupción y deudas de favores con grupos políticos y económicos egoístas.
El Perú grita por gente valiente que proteste desde de la administración pública, liderando su renovación desde adentro. Es motivo de orgullo y esperanza la tremenda movilización ciudadana de peruanos prodemocracia, pero debemos asegurarnos de que esto no quede en las calles.
Para renovar al Perú con autoridades decentes, necesitamos candidatos y funcionarios valientes. Solo así podremos asegurar un verdadero cambio.
